The Copthorne Hotel in Sheffield was the venue for a prestigious launch party on Wednesday hosted by Hallam FM's Cash for Kids charity to launch their Mission Christmas gift appeal to ensure that children living in poverty in the Sheffield area receive a gift on Christmas Day.
Melanie Allen, owner of Balloon Artworks said,
"I am well aware that Christmas can be a financially challenging time for many families and that, without the Mission Christmas appeal, thousands of children in South Yorkshire would not have any presents to open on Christmas Day.
"We are delighted to be able to help by donating our services to decorate the venue for this event to make the party unforgettable and to bring a bit of Christmas magic and sparkle."
Watch our video of our balloon Christmas decorations for this event, including a giant Christmas tree, snowfall, Christmas present stack and, the absolute stars of the show, our Penguin Brass Band made entirely from balloons.
The balloon decor was a big hit with all the guests, including the Lord Mayor of Sheffield. At the end of the evening, event organizer Allan Ogle, Barnsley and Rotherham's Business Person of the Year 2017, invited guests to take home the balloon decor in return for donations to the Mission Christmas appeal. Our creations were immediately snapped up.
Commenting on Twitter after the event, Allan said,
Cash for Kids Charity Executive, Michelle Osborne said in a thank-you message to Balloon Artworks,
"... all people were talking about was the amazing balloons. Thank you so much for all your help."
Guests were entertained by the fabulous 30-strong Sheffield branch of Chours UK choir, who sang a medley of Christmas songs. One of our penguin band members even joined them for their last Christmas medley.
Here at Balloon Artworks, we always want to support causes which are close to our hearts and this one definitely fits the bill.
